Is guy gardner evil

Why does everyone hate Guy Gardner? Both in comics/animated movies and the fan base. I've never read the comics so I have no knowledge.

Guy Gardner was created by John Broome and Gil Kane in Green Lantern (vol. 2) #59 (March ), although the character was changed significantly in the s by Steve Englehart and Joe Staton who turned him into a jingoistic parody of an ultra-macho "red-blooded American male". This latter version remains the character's archetype to this date.

It has long been questioned which Green Lantern is the most despised among fans. The majority of people say it's Guy Gardner, and here's why.

Guy Gardner's Green Lantern has just made his live-action debut in James Gunn's Superman. Played by Nathan Fillion, the DCU's Guy is just as much of a jerk as he is in the original comics. As such, some people less familiar with Guy's origins may be wondering why this particular Green Lantern has such an attitude to begin with.
